Lol, I have a customer with a red 04 EX with pushing 300k. It's beat, but has done the job well for him.
He really really likes my 05 black EX.
Well he stopped in yesterday and told me he was buying another EX but it's a red 05 6.0 with 16,000 miles on it. ONE owner.
I think it's an XLT. I'll know more next week and get pics.
Anyway he was after my HD wheels, and my f&r HNC bumpers, and my 08 power fold mirrors, and once I told him my 05 limited steps were pretty uncommon he wants those when I upgrade to Amps...
Needless to say....I'm gonna have twin.
You say.....but his is red? Yeah it is but when I told him we were close on having my wife's red 04 painted black we perked all up and asked if I knew I guy who could paint his black!
So the guy wants to destroy a perfectly preserved low mile X?
I don`t get it!
How is modding it with newer style mirrors and a front and rear bumper swap out with an aftermarket brand "destroying" an Excursion? Even if you include swapping out the wheels and painting it a different color?
You've never struck me as a "modding a stock Excursion ruins it for me" kind of person.

No, I have no problem with modding, as I have also done it. but within reason. the guy found a 16k mile X. it made it this far, I would keep it stock and maybe do mirrors, springs i.e... bolt on parts. repaint a truck with 15k miles! I wouldn`t! detail it and drive it. adding aftermarket bumpers that will rust out later, again...why? this is probably going to be the guy who ends up driving it into the ground, without taking into account what he actually has!
It`s almost the equivalent as taking a 40+ year old survivor car and taking it apart to "fix" it.
