After an agonizing 7 weeks of waiting, I picked up my 2005 Lariat SCREW 4x4 tonight! It's beautiful - well worth the wait!
For those that were asking, yes, the '05 Lariat's wheels are different than '04. They have Arizona Beige accents and are kinda cool looking. I have the solid Black paint, but the wheels match the 4x4 sticker. Doesn't matter much though - those wheels/tires are coming off next week (I'm selling them) and being replaced with Eagle 178s.
On a related note, you can now build a 2005 F150 at forddirect.com, including the King Ranch, if you're interested.
As soon as I get away from the truck, I'll take some pictures and create a gallery. Someone's gonna have to help me get this grin off my face....
That's awesome, we haven't got any '05s yet. 1 question: why didn't ya get an '04 with all the rebates they have an stuff? Just curious. I had no intention of trading off my Superduty till I was up front messing around a few weeks ago and found out that with D-plan and rebates I could save a little over $11k off sticker, And that got the wheels a turning in the head. Here it is a few weeks later and I got a new '04 Supercrew FX4.
Shane, Thats what I did.The 04 sticker was 35,595 ,they gave me 10,000 for my chevy then 2,500 rebate plus 1,500 for useing Ford credit so I bought the truck for 21,595..
I checked with my dealer yesterday and truck is suppose to be in October 4th. They also agreed that production was stopped because of head problems on both motors. Mine must of slipped through. He said if they had any recall on them they would take care of it at the dealer. Hope its not to bad.

It was tough seeing all those rebates recently...
But I've been researching this truck for the last year and a half (I remember looking at spy photos first!), so this has been planned for a long time. My reasoning for getting the '05 was 1) Some of the bugs of the new redesign would be worked out 2) It would give me more time to save up a giant down payment and 3) I've never ordered a vehicle before and I knew EXACTLY what I wanted with this F150 (a year and a half of hanging around on FTE forums will do that for you). It was great customizing this truck to fit me perfectly. I'm going to own this truck for 10 yrs, so that was worth it to me. I don't trade in every three years like some folks do.
That's reason enough. And I wasn't saying that ordering is bad or anything. I wish I could order one as well, but I'm WAY too impatient to order something and then have to sit around and wait on it...lol
Sweet! Nice truck. Tell us more about it. All the bells and whistles you got on it too. I'm looking to order one too just wanted to wait a little and hopefully some rebates start coming in. Let's see some pics!!!!!!

Did they add a damper to the rear axle?? The early protos had one and with the problems listed here, I was wondering if they added a damper. My Screw is a 6/04 build and I have not had any of the issues described on the this board.

You know, I was wondering the same thing.
Where were they putting the dampener? I'll look for it. Was is the axle? I thought it was attached the frame...
Those were the band-aid versions. The dampener that was on the protos was specifically shown in the pictures in the article and they said the Ford engineers said it was used "reduce vibration"- the production trucks did not have it. When all the vibration stuff started they came up with some 1/2 assed dampener that bolted to left rear leaf spring- it didn't fix the problem for those guys. I also have a '96 Mustang GT and it has a large piece of metal bolted to the bottom of the differential- it would be there if it wasn't needed- I am assuming for vibration.
