Putting A/C back in?

I have an 86' F150 that originally came with A/C but the owner took it out before me. What do I need to add to get it back with A/C?

Thank You

Not sure if this will help, but there is a thread currently about this (https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...4-9l-f150.html). Vintage Air (Vintage Air - Inventors of Performance Air Conditioning - Vintage Air - Inventors of Performance Air Conditioning - www.vintageair.com ) has been recommended.

What part of the AC did he take out?
Compressor & mounting brackets, hoses, condenser, drier, evaporator & blower box, etc.
We need to know what was removed so we can help you.
Maybe post up a picture or 2 of what you have or dont have.
Oh what motor does the truck have?

It may help but know that person does not have factory AC to start with so he has to go a different way as he has nothing to start with.

2 different types of A/C:

1) Factory installed integral A/C is combined with the heater, so if specific parts were removed, the heater probably doesn't work.

2) Dealer installed A/C is not combined with the heater.

I'm gonna say it was factory 86 because heater doesn't blow. It's a 351W.

Vary good point ND I forgot that little part that would make a BIG difference.

When people ask A/C questions without typing a shred of evidence (sigh) on what type of A/C it has, people responding assume it's factory A/C

'Course most people haven't a clue what type of A/C it is, so...many assume it's factory A/C

1968/72 F100/350: THREE different types of A/C, all are "hang-on" units as the bezels bolt to the bottom of the dash.

1973/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco: THREE different types of A/C, all are in-dash units.

OP posted an engine compartment pic, it has the large evaporator housing, so it's factory A/C

Also says the heater doesn't work, which is obviously not surprising...

From the look of the AC/Heater box it was factory AC.
It also looks like it has a "blue" orifice valve. From what I have seen posted should be changed to red to be used with 134a charge.

Do you still have the condenser out in front of the motor radiator?
If so and it looks in good shape, no holes or bent fins then it looks like you just need the compressor, hoses and red orifice valve from what I can see.

I would also replace the drier when fixing the system.
