Got my windshield replaced weeks ago but it leaked, so it took a few weeks of coordinating/procrastinating to get it fixed. And now another few weeks of coordinating/procrastinating – I have my appointment for windshield tint today at 3:00 PM
Just checked my dashboard temp at high noon on a sunny summer day in central Florida.
Local news says "86°F, feels like 95° Relative humidity 75%."
Hot hot hot!
Thought it would be fun to compare the before and after.
(The picture below is not indicative of how I aimed the laser- I did a large repetitive circular sweep of the dash above the gauge cluster)
Well I've had my tint for nearly a week now… And I have had quite a mix of weather to deal with, lots of clouds and rain lately around the noon hour.
But I have also checked and rechecked the dash temperature probably 15 times at different times of day.
The worst I have seen is a little over 130°F and that was after having it parked for 45 minutes in the sun. Most commonly now I see about 112 to 115°F driving with direct sun exposure, and reasonably long periods of cloud free skies.
On a less scientific note, I noticed the AC feels more effective. Unless of turning it down quite a bit.
