You wont get it... unless you're the hulk.. if you dont have to worry about the column its coming off you could try a couple of pry tools... obviously with airbag removed and disconnected.. Ive never been successful at the yank method...
I've removed steering wheels by grabbing them at the 3:00 and 9:00 positions and giving it a hard (really, really, hard) yank/snap. Leave the center nut on by at least 3-4 threads. This way the steering wheel won't hit you in the face if it pulls free.
pulled it off hold oppesit sides...9-3 oclock like post above....its at my jobs yard. Guess i shouldve got tool at advanced to loan/rent. Oh well....if anything ill just take all 4 door panel..and most of trim that snaps off interior. This expy is so clean its a sin to crush it....
Looks brand new inside. The grey from 97 is slightly darker then 2000....but im getting all kick panels ect. The switches look sooo new. These asians buy OUR cars....they crush and mangle them into 3-4 inch metal pieces and sends them over seas in containers for steel. They dont take NOTHING off these cars...nothing! Great parts going to waste. I tow them in. Was thinking to take these two bumpers and grill....paint them same as body.mi took everything missing....lol
you are very lucky you got it off by hand, I have bent steering wheel pullers trying to get some off, and I have pulled on one side while leveraging the other side with my knee and hitting the center nut or bolt with a 2# Dead blow ball peen hammer, this method usually works, but not always.
Yea....put all panels on...looks much cleaner cause of lighter grey. Panals had really good insulation as well for noise. Perfect fit. Do steering wheel in morning.
