I would not say quick or easy, but it can be done. Thanks to our FTE brother AllaboutMPG he cracked the nut for us. I plan to do this during my winter modfest part 2.
My drain was fine. The coil was really packed full of crud preventing air from properly passing through it which was allowing it to get really cold and making the air passage inside truck to sweat because of the Florida heat. That procedure by AllAboutMPG was very easy to do. Had a heater hose quick disconnect fail so we took both quick disconnects off and used hose clamps. The plastic on the disconnects had become fragile after 15 years of hot ELC on them. It blows super cold now with no drips.

Now it's AllAboutColdAC......thx!
Good to hear! I will be doing the same thing in the next couple of months when I garage the truck for modfest 2016. The blower side of my evaporator looked like it had a wool blanket on it, so I am sure the other side is just as bad if not worse.
You did good Mike, want to drive to California to do mine? I remember when mine was really cold as well. Use to get a chill in colder climates.
😂! I clean my coil on my house AC every year. I always wondered how hard cleaning the truck coil would be. Never thought it would be that easy, minus the heater hose failure. I had it on low fan regular AC setting (not max AC) this morning and had to turn it off it was so cold. Simple green is really good with really hot water. Smells good as well!

Now I got to do oil cooler and injector o-rings!
Any suggestions or additions to the instructions provided by AllaboutMPG in the link I posted earlier?
He was a pioneer in getting this maintenance item documented for us.
This looks to be a fall project for me.
I have committed my weekends to a remodeling of a bathroom. We built our home my way, back in the 80's, so I am letting my spouse pick everything this time (I am the labor).
I am so thankful I paid attention to my Dad's guidance way back when....
