So, I was on a road trip to Arkansa from Missouri when my truck started loosing power and eventually just died. After I tore through some stuff, I realized the ficm was just floating around off the brackets and even better yet, missing the top cap where you voltage test. And to my great luck, there was a small coolant leak that dripped it's way right into it.. So now I'm looking at replacements and it looks like I'm going to go with the Bulletproof Diesel ficm. But my question is, can I just swap them out and go.? My truck is tuned with an SCT tuner and was tuned up when it died. Should I tune it back to stock before I put a new one in or put the new one in and then put it stock and retune it after that.? Or is it more complicated than that and I should just let my mechanic deal with it.? Any advice is appreciated.!

Just get a new one and change it out, your SCT does not tune the FICM it tunes the PCM.
Before you buy a Bulletproof FICM, review the warranty. Check out FICMrepair.com and compare them. I believe you will find a better warranty, support, and quality of work.
If you plan on doing the FICM tuning yourself there is a method to the madness...........but get the coolant issue fixed before doing anything with the new FICM....
He might still be working on the Track Bar and fighting the Energy Suspension bushing.....
ROFLOL
I got the bushing in and the ball joint in. Ran out of daylight and into noise
control time so I laid off for the night.
Found a good way to get the bushing in with all the issues with it mushrooming.
I'll disclose it in the thread.
What has been said covers the who is should buy from.
Ed started here.
Thanks for the support, guys! Yep, FICMrepair.com did indeed get its start years ago on FTE. We've repaired a TON of modules for FTE and non-FTE folks alike.
We aren't special, but do go out of our way to treat our customers the way that we'd want to be treated and offer up to a lifetime warranty on our work.
The fact that any of this is special is to us a travesty!
We'd be honored to have your business Kane and are very sorry that you are having issues. The good news is that we can get you going again!
Please also consider us for your other 6.0 needs. We offer so much more than just FICM's these days - essentially anything you can get in the OEM space or aftermarket you can get from us. While we are less expensive than nearly everyone else out there nearly always on what you DO need, in loads of cases we're 100% less expensive as we'll actively attempt to talk you out of things that you don't.
When you send your FICM into us or order a replacement on exchange, consider also asking us to load a tune on your FICM as part of the process. You'll be amazed at the difference it makes. More information on the tunes and the process of getting started is of course on FICMRepair.com - FORD Powerstroke 6.0 FICM Repair, PHP Tuning and Truck Parts.
I've heard many things about Ed, from other threads too. I was just thinking about buying a BPD and then sending my current one in whenever I have the money for it to have an extra one too just in case something happens like this again.
