56/76
Just purchased a 56/76 ford Pickup, beautifully done by a gent out west. truck is a 56 F100 cab and front end mounted on a 76 Ford High-boy chassis. the blend came out fantastic.

I have a few projects for this beast:
Ididit Tilt/tele steering column, should be fairly straight forward install
Replace the C6 automatic with a 5 speed Manual, looking at a NV4500 conversion. Gearing is 4.11:1and I would like an OD transmission as well as a manual. This will take a weekend or two maybe more to get done.
Want to update the instrument panel with a Dakota Digital Dash (analogue with a tach) again a weekend project
And build some 70's camper special mirrors to fit the 56 doors. The truck will tow occasionally and it will not be a garage queen.
Vintage air is installed with no dash vents, thinking the round vents from Vintage would be interesting mounted in the dash at the curve from the top to the front.
The wrinkle in the plan is the front fenders, stock 56 and beautifully done, if I go to a slightly larger tire or anything wider the fender will not cover the tire/wheel. I am open to suggestions and ideas at this point on wider front fenders. Not looking to go too radical just a bit wider 285/75R16 or 295/75R16

She has a aluminum Flat bed installed 8ft, and at some point down the road I would like to replace with a 8ft step side bed and full length running boards. Found out that Mid fifty parts has a 8ft long bed un assembled that could work.
Power plant is a Built FE 390 motor.
Open to all thoughts and comments on this, the only thing that I am on a hard stop on is the 5 speed manual.
Just one problem I see if you go with an 8' bed. They do reproduce the long bed but no one makes the long running boards. You will have to find good used ones.
