I'm addicted to my truck. It will be fast reliable and handsome regardless of the krusty people on here . I just want to share my experience and have people share there's.this is a brotherhood
You say that you tow your camper trailer all over for work. You say you want consistent reliable 500 hp....but only twice a month? Im assuming that is on average how often you move from job to job. Are you planning on towing a camper trailer with 500hp? yea.....Good luck with that......
You can make a very reliable towing machine that can drag that camper to Timbuktu and back without issue. But you seem to be fixated with the 500hp number and want to cut corners just throw parts at it to get there. Why? So far your only solution is to throw money at the issue and buy parts only to have them a few weeks and want to sell again so you can buy more parts. I have a buddy that has that same problem as you, and to be honest I do wish that I had that problem of having more money than sense. Cuz Id like to think Ive got a lot of sense......

Lol , I wanted to build a 67 mm gtp38 but after I got it I now want to go t4 so I can buy a few different turbos for different setups . Once I get somewhere and am going to be there for awhile put on a different turbo then after the just jobs over install my towing turbo . 250 100s from swamps and GearHead tuning .

And you hit the nail on the head with the towing situation 👌👍🏻
It looks like a S400SX4 turbo with a 75 mm compressor wheel and a 96 mm turbine wheel as well as a 1.32 A/R. It might take an hour or two for her to light............way too big for the application you are thinking of.
I could only dream of having a 7.3 with enough *** to push this . Appreciate the graph didn't see that
I wouldn't want one......I'll stick to 400 hp and under 7.3L's. seems to work out to be a lot less time & money on maintenance & repairs that way ......but that's just me......

500 HP doesn't conjure up adjectives like "safe" and "reliable". If you have your heart set on 500 HP, factor in $15K - $20K to get every part where they play nice with each other - including the drivetrain. Joe (Gaugepro) has a lot of useful input on reaching for the big 5, since he's shoveled a few engines through his truck with that much oomph. Based on all that I've learned here and with my own failures, I'd wager 400 HP is a line in the sand with the 7.3L - you cross over that at your own peril. 400 HP is a lot more goop than one would expect, because you have to factor in how the HP number is calculated. I get 400 HP at about 3000-3200 RPM, not 5000 or 6000 RPM. Acceleration is a matter of torque - plain and simple. Once you chase a torque number, you'll find yourself on a whole different planet if you come from the orb named Gasser. 800 ft/lbs of torque is a tire lathe, where 1000 ft/lbs of torque can turn some metal components into Twizzlers. Just "food" for thought.
