This site has helped me so much in the past two days - I love it.
I am getting a Error 332. Most of the threads I have read tell me to check the EGR Pressure Feedback Sensor (NAPA term) and clean it. So I took it off and cleaned the tubes and wire brushed some corrosion off, still receive the same code.
I started to take off the EGR valve and that is where I am stuck 3 hours later. It's a '95 and it's the original parts with 106420 miles. I am using a 1" wrench and pulling towards me, is that the correct way. I push the other way also, towards the passanger side to no avail. Any help will be awsome.
1. Detact battery
2. Remove vacuum line from valve
3. Remove EGR pipe from manifold
4. Remove mounting bolts of securing the valve
5. Remove EGR valve and gasket from manifold, disgard gasket
Counter-clockwise for this nut. It will likely help to soak it with PB Blaster or some sort of rust penetrant. Might even need to run the truck for a bit just to warm up the connection.
If you do take it off, make sure to clean all the carbon out of wherever you can get to it. Have a vacuum handy when you clear out the ports in the throttle body.
Do you know what size wrench to remove the valve from the manifold for a 95 explorer? I tried 1" too small 1 1/16 too big. I am thinking it's a 26mm (can't find it). I went to a auto store by my house and they told me it was a special tool. I then went to Oasis Auto also by my house and the person didn't know (or didn't want to tell me).
