On a recent trip from Calgary to Victoria, my ScanGauge just went blank, which was nuisance because I like to monitor it in the mountain climbs. It felt like a 'naked' dash without it. My separate pyrometer was the only additional info I had. The ScanGauge only has a few thousand miles on it. Wondering how reliable these things are before considering getting another, or enquiring about a fix I know I will first have to double check that the OBII port is still OK, but I expect it is.
I had a SGII problem been so long I cant remember what it even was but it was newer at the time called sg and they sent a new one no problem that was 6-7 years back still good
there seams to be more issue with the OBDII port then the SGII I think they blow a fuse here and there
I've had mine more than 3 years and it works as good as day one. I have had a time or two where the PCM didn't connect completely with it but shutting down the truck and restarting corrected the problem. I blame the PCM because unplugging and re-plugging the SGII didn't fix the problem. So I say the SGII has done it's job.
I've had mine app. eight years trouble free. In 2014 when I sold my 6.0 and bought my 6.7 I sent it back to the factory and they updated it to the 6.7 for free. Give them a call. Good company.

More than likely it was the SGII that was not happy. I have had some lockups like that.
A call to Linear-Logic the makers of the SGII solved that problem when they had me send
it into them and they fixed it and sent it right back. Been working ever sense.

Also when you do send it in be sure to let them know that it's for a 6.0L
and they can pre-program it with all the 6.0L Xguages for you along with any updates.
Does your cigar lighter work? If not, replace the fuse for it...the OBDII uses the same fuse for it's power.
THAT is exactly what it was I had no idea they were on the same circuit, and the ScanGauge guide itself mentions this under troubleshooting. Doh!
I had been using that circuit to power a 12V cooler for hours on end, and must have over-taxed the line. Found the burned out 20A fuse today. All is well, thanks for the tips everyone!

Thanks, It's only happened twice and that was a year or two ago. I'll keep it in mind though.
If I recall it right (some time ago) they said that the socket had
a crack at one corner. They fixed it and I think also updated the
firmware.
The only time is gets mad not is if I plug in the Garmin ecoRoute HD.
The Garmin will work and the SGII locks up. When it really gets bad
both quit updating there displays. It take a full key off and let every
thing go to sleep and then restart the truck.
