This has been going on for a couple years. My F-350 would quit when hitting very little things like line reflectors in road, shutting doors, mainly the pass. door. Replaced the CMP twice, checked conections and dielectric greased almost everything electrical.
It turned out to be the power source on the solanoid, where the fuse box and relays get power. The conection looked OK but, took it apart and cleaned with wire brush, greased it anyway. Hasn't quit in five days! It usually quits five times a day!
Just goes to show you, it can be something very minor to that can stop you in your tracks.
Well, I'll tell you one thing, you must have the patience of Job. There is no earthly way that I would have kept a truck that would quit 5 times a day for over two years. I would have taken a baseball bat to something long before that. I know it has got to be a tremendous relief to have finally found the problem. Congrats!!!

You must have the paitence of a SAINT, because I wouldn't have put up with that 5-times-a-day-quitting behavior for very long, especially after trying to fix it over and over again.
Well you can bet I wasn't happy with that going on! My friends would say I should buy a new truck. Yea right! 40 or 50 grand! I new it was something stupid and I do love this truck. Besides I got really fast at restarting.[ shift to neut.,turn key off, then restart] Hard to turn or stop while its not running though. Now it sort of startles me when I hit the usual bumps and it keeps running.

Sorry Kusp, I kind of reiterated your post I didn't even see it before I replied for some reason. AWESOME avatar by the way, John Wayne was the #1 real man!
No problem. Thanks for the compliment on the avatar. I bought my truck on the Dukes 100th birthday so I thought it would be appropriate. I usually use a picture of R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket. I am a huge fan of John Wayne's movies so it was an easy choice as well.

"Are you the big chief or one of the little indians?"
