Sealing rear window

I had to get another rear window on my Super Cab a few months ago. I got a junkyard piece in great condition. Since we have not had much rain lately I never knew I had a leak until the other day. The rain really pours in around the rubber seal. I'll pop it back out and reinstall it but what is a good sealer to use? It's a slider window and the rubber seal is fairly hard. This is beater truck so pretty is not necessary. The cab is in decent shape and I don't want a puddle of water to begin the rust war.

Thanks,

I would line the groove in the seal with clear silicone from Lowes.

see if you can find some urethane like the window places use. Usually they may have partial tubes and give away. I asked them about silicone and they said it just doesnt last. You will need to pull the beading and do all particularly if you changed the seal along with it.

If you go the silicone route go to an RV place to get it like camping world, a little more expensive but seems to last longer also.

For those interested...

...I purchased this product MSC Google Search Results and sealed my rear window. As of today our area is taking on Hurricane Hanna. The Ranger's rear window is leak free. I took it for a drive earlier to do errands. Finally something that works, so far. It's Marine grade urethane sealer so it should do well in the elements.

Wouldn't do that. Tried it myself once. Started leaking again a couple of months later. Try using the stuff they use on windshields. Was still dry 2 years later when I traded it in.
