I have searched old posts and do not find exactly what I am looking for. Maybe someone can help me. I have a rear window leak (as do many others). It appears to be comming from the top edge of the window. I removed the 3rd brake light and can see the seal between the window and the frame. I would like to get the exterior molding off all the way around so I could seal all areas. How do I get the molding off?????? BTW I do not plan to use silicone. There is a product called Lexel that I have used for years. Comes in a caulk tube. Can get it in white or clear. Costs about $6 per tube. Be careful where you put it, because it is there to stay. It stays flexable. I have used it in many locations, including sealing around roof vends on roofing jobs. Anyway, I really need to know how to get the exterior rear window plastic molding off. This is not the window seal molding, just the black plastic trim that fades after several years of neglect. Thanks, John.
mine leaked, my buddy's leaked. we both have split windows. so i took mine apart and found the plastic between the middle window and left window had cracked and water was leaking through. best bet is to call a glass place and have them replace the whole window unit. it is really cheap and they do it best....trust me on this one. just call your local auto glass replacement...it cost about 150 bucks here in cali.
