That's pretty cool. I have a really strong sun load because I live at about 7400 ft of elevation. The truck is medium blue but it does get pretty warm. If it wasn't so nice and still kind of new, I would try that. But I can mess up a paint job faster than anyone...so I'll wait to try that if I end up with some hail damage on my dirty old ranch truck.
That ice trick is actually similar to one of the methods that PDR technicians use.
A quality PDR shop will warranty their work, and it's a common process, so you don't have much to worry about. Actually, if you are using insurance for this, usually the insurance company will make sure that the work is warrantied. Or they did for me last time I was in your situation.
Thanks...I figure that the insurance company approves of the work because they didn't even need to see the vehicle. They just accepted the quote I got. Makes me think that they have worked with this guy before.
Turns out there is over $1,000,000 in claims over in the next big town (Cheyenne), that's where I was driving through when this happened.
Several of the top ten largest natural disasters in terms of insurance payouts up here in Canada have been hail storms.
I'm actually in the process of claiming hail damage on both my home and a vehicle. Good times.
