I built a Platinum and a Lariat Ultimate side-by-side on the Ford site, doing my best to match option for option to make the Lariat look just like the Platinum.
EDIT: Oops, just noticed there was a second page to this thread and the vinyl has already been covered.
Besides the Multi Contour Seats it isn't clear if the rear seats are leather in a crew cab or not. For the Lariat it specifically says the SuperCab rear seats are Vinyl even though the front are Premium Leather. I suspect that the rear seats are leather in the CrewCab, it just doesn't explicitly say so.
It doesn't look like the heated steering wheel is available in the Lariat.

I came up with a price difference of $3,450.
You can't get the active motion seats either. And not that it's important, but the kick-plate isn't lighted except in the Platinum.
The Platinum leather is also much more supple than the Lariat. The King Ranch is in the middle - just with an ugly leather color w/ orange thread.
I currently have a 2015 Ram Longhorn 3500 Mega Cab. And a 2017 Crew Cab LB SW F-350 Platinum on order. I must say That I love my seats in the Ram.Hope the seats in the Super Duty are just as nice(Leather)..Cheers
The build I did on the Ford web site doesn't call out the heated steering as a specific line item on the Lariat like it did for the Platinum. At least not that I could see.
I went to a different site (non-Ford) and the heated steering wheel is buried in a related line item as part of the Ultimate package:
● Power Telescoping/Tilt Steering Wheel/Column with heat, memory
and audio controls

When you build and choose Lariat Ultimate, there is a little "I" for information and it says the package details.
Like Troverman said, the heated steering wheel is part of the Lariat Ultimate package. Direct copy/past from the Ford Build and Price "...power telescoping/tilt steering wheel/column with heat..." You can see what's included in the Ultimate Package by clicking on the photo associated with the package (in this case, it's a photo of the dual panel moon roof).
I was going off the the "Details" link after you're done adding everything. It sort of gives a summary on one page of all the options added. It looks like the summary doesn't quite have all the "details".
I don't want to miss any items when I do the deed (order) so I'm trying to be as careful as I can.
With all things equal, is the only difference between a souped up Lariat Ultimate and the Platinum the type of leather and the multi contour/massaging seats? Did I miss anything?

Yes. You can get the lariat with with awesome and highly functional 40/20/40 seat. The platinum is stuck with the crappy console in the middle.

The Platinum has nicer wood trim inserts on the doors. It has the lit sill kick plates. It has the fancier grille. It used to have a half wood steering wheel.
1. The wheels
2. Less chrome (e.g. mirror caps, door handles, tow hooks) without chrome package
3. More chrome (e.g. bumper) with the chrome package - BUT you cannot get the power running boards with the chrome package
4. More color choices
5. Ability to get two-tone paint
6. Leather color (Camel option vs Brunello)
7. Doesn't have big chrome platinum plate on tailgate
For me, decked out F350/F450 (6.7, long bed, 4x4) - xplan worked out to:
Lariat: $71,228 (but I'd miss the active motion seats and softer leather)
King Ranch: $74,189 (cannot get past the leather color / orange accents & thread)
King Ranch DRW: $74,154 (cheaper because you cannot upgrade wheels)
King Ranch F450: $77388
Platinum: $74,564
Platinum F450: $79,082
I'm still waiting for test drive of various 2017 configurations. I'm leaning strongly towards the F350 platinum long bed, but will still consider the short bed or F450, depending on the ride quality.
That keeps getting mentioned in the promotional materials, and elsewhere. Looks to be gone...kind of a bummer.
Yeah, you're right. The pictures don't show it anymore. The wood trim, fake or not, is much nicer in the KR / Platinum than in the Lariat, however. Doesn't look like it would be hard to change out, though.

I know it's subjective, but I'm really glad the 1/2 wood wheel is gone. I thought it looked nice, but hard slick wood never felt as nice as soft leather. The transition felt even worse to me.

Agreed.
For what it's worth, I went to the dealer before ordering specifically to sit in a platinum F-150 with the multi-contour seats. I ordered a lariat. I wouldn't call what they did "massaging' but the enhanced 3-zone lumbar support was nice. More than anything though, that center strip of leather down the back pushing into my back all the time drove me nuts. The seat themselves do look nicer though, the lariats are kind of bland, but more comfortable in my opinion.
