I have two pre-release brochures that state the rear seats in the Lariat are vinyl, but leather in Platinum and KR. No disclosure saying that applies on to the SuperCab. Seriously? Vinyl on a $65k truck?

Can only get a bench with the Lariat. Important if you want seat belts for 6 people. Also makes it much easier for the girl to give you some loving while driving down the road..

Any girl worth keeping will be more interested in the truck.

You can spend a lot more than $65k on a Lariat - but that said, it is not uncommon for a lot of vinyl to be in leather seats anyway. I'd bet even the KR and Platinum have some vinyl to them as well, particularly near the sides of the seat. Heck, leather is an 'option' on most Mercedes cars. The base cars have what is called 'MB-Tex' which is simply high-quality vinyl that looks exactly like leather. On the Super Duty, the vinyl rear seat will be high quality, perforated, and look and feel like leather. No worries.

I'm talking about the seating surfaces, which are vinyl on Lariat, leather on KR and Platinum. I was just surprised that it was completely vinyl on the Lariat. Willing to give it some consideration, but I am not going to make excuses for Ford. It seems kind of lame and cheap.

I bet if someone didn't tell you it wasn't leather, you'd never know. Does it really matter that much? The high-grade, perforated vinyl costs more for Ford to make than the cloth seats, or the basic vinyl on XL trucks. It also shares all the same characteristics as the leather seats - easier to clean, looks nice, and you stick to it on the summer and freeze to it in the winter.

Yup. And my seat is in the front row, left side with 10 way adjustable. My .300 Win Mag does not care if it rides on vinyl or leather.
Found a good article on the pros and cons of real leather vs. modern vinyl. What Troverman says is correct, it's hard to tell the difference when it is new at least, but real leather lasts longer and less expensive to repair.
