I have 135K on my X with a 100K on the CF. I was trying to replace the passenger side GP harness as preventative maintenance, which I could not do because I have the early '03 motor with the ridged harness. Looks like I'll have to remove the motor mount and slightly drop the engine down to replace it. Anyway so I remove the CF for easier access and did not re-install. I have cut apart 4 filters and have not had any significant debris in the filter. I was wondering what other CF users are finding in their filters and would you share the data.
I installed mine over 8 years ago. I just changed the filter this past May and it was clean. It had been a couple of years since the last one was changed.
Everyone may have different results. Some claim the first filter didn't have anything in it and others have filters full of casting sand.
Below is what I found in mine on the first or second filter change. Now, years later, it has far less particles and I change it once a year.
My first filter came out similar to 87crewdually's. I don't have a good picture of it, but pretty much the same. Since then, the filters come out about as clean as I could expect.
