lead additive for gas?

Hi gang. Have a question on weather I should be using a lead additive for my 54 279 engine. Also, what grade gas is best.

I tried several different lead additives over the years, with no success. I then tried Marvel Mystery Oil, one quart to 100 gallons. It done the trick as far as keeping the valves cleaner.

I have a 300 gallon bulk tank here so everything that burns gas gets the MMO mix, I also have a flathead Chrysler, it did wonders with that also.
