Bad gas ?s
Just found out he didn't drain the old gas, I thought he did
So i put 10.00 buck of high test in it..just had a couple of gallons of 3 year old gas in it
I took a gas sample of whats in the tank and compared it to the gas I got 2 days ago that was still left in the jug
The truck gas is a lot darker then the jug gas...which started out the same gas 2 days ago
On a scale of 10 the jug gas is at #3 darkness and the truck gas is at 7, no water in the truck gas
But smells a different
Depending how badly it runs (i.e. if it is possible to drive it), I would continue using premium gas in it with a can of cleaner in each tank. After a couple tanks often the gunk in the carburetor will get washed away. It's a lot easier than taking apart the carburetor and trying to find the clogs, which can be in some very tiny and inaccessible places (like the idle emulsion tubes).
drain the tank first then add fresh gas.
if its going to sit more than 2 weeks use a stabilizer in the gas it helps.
These days gas has ethanol mixed with it and it doesnt last very long sitting idle.
