E4od clip found in pan

E4od clip found in pan

I found this today inside my pan on my e4od along with a couple valve body nuts.

I decided to inspect it after loosening my forward gears(barely had 1st) but perfect reverse. And was having a Hart time shifting from 1st to2nd(was jamming) and the shifter was loose to find the gears and would pop out of park and drive after the rebuild.

What could the clip be, and is my valve body maybe bad?

That looks like a piece of spring material from a sprag or one way clutch. Since you have no 1,2,or 3rd, I'd guess your OD OWC is not holding.

Would it maybe be this clip where it says..or clip? As it does have a shift kit in it.

No. Those clips cannot fall/come out when the VB is installed,they are captured.

Would maybe it not of been installed in the first place? I'd ask the business who rebuilt it but am getting no response back from them and they are never there when I show up.
