E4OD Pan Material
I had the pan off my E4OD ('93 F150 300I6) to change the fluid and noticed that:
1.) The pan is a casting
2.) It's very lightweight
3.) It's strongly attracted to the donut-shaped magnet found on its inner surface.
What the heck material is the pan made from?

THE PAN IS MAGNETICLY ATTRACTIVE,AND LIGHT WEIGHT? WELL IT COULD BE MADE OF SOME ALLOY CONTAINING IRON OR STEEL, I GUESS.
HEY DOES ANY BODY KNOW THE MATERIAL THAT THE TIMMING GEAR COVER IS MADE OF, BY THE WAY?
