Not everyone needs a crew cab. Ive had my crew now for 12 yrs, and can count on one hand how many times ive had people in the back. I know some people need it though. It is nice with the extra room to pile stuff in the back, but its not worth the extra $2800 just for that reason. Why drive around in a 30ft long truck if you dont need too. Thats why im getting a scab for my next one. It will also give me a good excuse when my buddies want to take a trip, i can say, i dont have the room, Lets take your truck.
Wow! A 30 foot long truck...I didn't know we could get the 2017 super duty that long. I heard the long bed crew cab is just over 22 feet. Which model are you referring to?
Doe anyone know how it works on a diesel with the warming up of the plugs?
No different than remote start. It checks the coolant temp and then may pause a couple of seconds if it's cold enough to run the glow plugs before cranking the engine.

i shouldnt have to point out that i was being sarcastic, i think most people would figure it out. If your your one of those that takes everything literally, then i'll try to explain it to you. I can assure you that i dont actually believe that they make a truck 30 ft long. In the future, if you see me saying something like, " That truck or trailer looks like its a mile long." It doesnt mean that i think its literally an actual mile long. it just means that its long. Or if i say " Im so hungry, i could eat a horse" it doesnt mean that i would want to try or could eat an actual full grown horse. Its just a figure of speech that means , im hungry. anyways please dont go trying to dig up proof that there is no 30ft long superduty, I know there isnt.

I did not believe that statement to be sarcasm, but I most definitely recognized it as hyperbole. My response was a rhetorical question and contained sarcasm.
The crew cab pickup is 12" longer than the super cab. So to play along with what you said earlier, it would go something like this "Why drive around in a 30ft long truck when you could drive around in a 29ft truck instead?"

That extra 12" does make a pretty good difference in the turning radius. Its all good, i know i got a little smart with you earlier, i apologize, i was in a bad mood.
That would be one of the few times I would want a crew cab. I don't care for crossing the double solid line going over a hill, pulling out in front of traffic from any direction, looking out a windshield which hasn't been cleaned since taking dealer delivery 4 years ago, getting lost and not listening to the ones who know, tailgating 10 ft off someones bumper at 65 mph, driving in the far left lane 10 mph under the speed limit. I want control. Need I say more.

This is such an ignorant thing to make optional. For years all you have to do is bump the key and the engine starts, in theory it's the same as a push button.

The expense of the keyless entry is in the system for detecting the key fob... which some are better than others...
What's the draw to the keyless ignition? I've never had it but it seems a bit silly to me... I still have to carry the key, the ignition switch is just a convenient place to keep it.
The jury is still out on Push Button Start for me.....My wife's new Honda CRV is push button. I've come home a couple of times to find it running in the driveway with no one around .. Normally, if you get out while it's running and walk more than 25-30 feet away from the car, it will beep it's horn. Unfortunately, my wife drops her purse by the front door, where it's still in range, so the car keeps running.. Apparently it doesn't have any sort of ignition time-out function
I am hoping she gets used to the new keyless system, but I now have networked Carbon Monoxide sensors in my attached garage and basement just in case she ever leaves it running inside.

The draw to me is walking up to the vehicle, touch the door handle and the vehicle unlocks. Walk up to the vehicle and the "puddle lights" shine down from the mirror and say "welcome back, here is a light for your assistance".
And the push button start means not fumbling to get the key in the ignition. Not having a chime ringing because you are outside the vehicle with the key still in the ignition. Nice not dropping 5 quarters and 3 pennies and heirloom pocket knife on the ground in the snow while getting keys out of pocket. Not having seven other key swinging around on every bump wearing out their eyelets. Nice feature except having to put foot on the brake in order to start. Would be nice feature if crew cab and whole ultimate package was not a prerequisite. Makes us Super Cab people feel like second class. I guess we are.

Our MKC beeps horn at 5 feet away. Helps keep the keyholder from walking away when second person is supposed to drive the car away. I have heard of people jumping out of the car and heading into work and their partner not having their key with them.

Those are mostly good reasons. I make a point to keep my key rings in check, though, and just have more of them.
Yeah, I think us super cab folk are second class. That's fairly sad with as nice as the scab is. I've been called worse than second class, though :P
