Engine Tapping

Last week I was pulling a travel trailer through a mountain pass in Colorado. About half way the truck started struggling and I had to pull over. After a couple minutes the truck seemed to recover. Turns out the valve cover gasket on the drivers side blew and had started leaking oil (this has been repaired). My issue is now there is a loud ticking coming from the passenger side valve cover (I think), no leaks. The ticking is only under acceleration or going uphill. I have changed the oil and added some seafoam, so far no improvement.

Is it possible a lifter was damaged? Or could the exhaust have been damaged?

My wife's Expedition is doing the same (only under acceleration) I think it is a leak in the exhaust. I have been able to rule out many of the other issues. It is not affecting the performance, just a bit annoying.
