I wonder if you clutch guys could give me a hand?
'96 F-250 ZF5 3.55 w/238,XXX. Truck is factory injectors and turbo, only HP mods are 140 V IDM and SD HPOP with open intake and exhaust.
I replaced the second dual mass flywheel at 174,XXX with a complete single mass and Valair kit. I bought the truck new in '96 with 000,050 miles on her.
Clutch disc measures .315 with dial calipers and a new Napa clutch on my shelf (spare) measures .330+- .005 around the disc.
I'm not techno savvy enough to load pics yet but one set of the 5-6 sets of springs in the center of the disc blew out and kept the pedal from going to the floor. Had to drive home shifting without the clutch.
I don't do much heavy hauling and in '14 the supplied release bearing disintegrated, but pulled tranny and changed bearing and got 1-1/2 years before disc flaked out.
