Not to sound like a dummy, but any help finding good information sources would be great. How do I find "world's best driver" style tune? Semi-joking. Who are the people pushing the limits of the 6.7L? Don't know how to start looking for that
Need to call Jeremy or Mike at No Limit. The guys pushing the 6.7 platform mostly post on Powerstroke Army or the 6.7 Facebook page.
My buddy Jeff works at Spartan. They push them to find the weak spots. They just pushed his personal truck to the point it chunked a rod. Total carnage. Gotta respect the guys that are willing to push the boundaries and find the limits. Especially their wallets! Much respect
Well she's done, got it back yesterday it took awhile for the egr delete kit to show up. SCT tuner with custom tunes,AFE stainless exhaust system and edge monitor. All I can say is wow what a difference. I thought the truck pulled before! it is night and day difference. Now I know what the deleted guys have been talking about. Now all I have to do is relearn my driving and keep my foot out of it, I passed someone and punched it and I thought the tires were going to break loose
Reading threads like this make me want to delete so bad. My last 2 regens just so happened to occur just seconds before pulling in my driveway. This annoys me to put it lightly and me being the OCD person I am, turns around, and gets on the highway to complete the regen. Each time this happens, it makes me want to delete more and more. I hate interrupting regens. I planned on waiting until a little further down the road to delete but I am not so sure that I can wait much longer. Once we get moved into our new house and things settle down financially, I may pull the trigger. I've read pages and pages of info pertaining to tuners and deleting and have decided that when I do it, I will be going with the PPEI tunes on the EZ-LYNK. Anybody run this tuner/tunes on here?
Also, for everyone that has deleted, did you roll your windows down and turn the radio off every time you drove for the first few weeks after deleting? Kind of like when you were in high school and got your first exhaust system? I know I will, it's killing me to have virtually no sound coming from the tailpipe of a 6.7 Diesel, it just seems wrong......

I didn't do that but a couple of times, but what I did enjoy doing (and still do now and then) is a remote start while standing near the rear of the truck. It works especially well after it is warmed up, so the wastegate isn't closing to hold back pressure and causing the "whoosh" sound.

That's the "wastegate", huh? Spins the turbo a bit too ... Where is the wastegate located generally speaking?
Actually, that was likely bad info on my part. I believe it is the variable inlet vanes closing, rather than the wastegate. Both are located on the turbo. When the wastegate opens when you are under power and then let off, it sounds like a pissed off cheetah, and to me it is also pretty cool.
As of Wednesday afternoon, it is done! Got my deleted 6.7L turbodiesel at the beach, averaged 19.8mpg @ 82mph for 145 miles. A W E S O M E!!!!!!!!!!!! Not pulling anything, but had some mild wind-capturing load action in the bed. Trailer is waiting for 2 new axle assemblies, 4 new wheels/tires, 2 new fenders. It was hit about a month ago by a median jumper at 90-95mph combined speeds. Pretty exciting. No one hurt, witnessed a miracle.
Went with the minimaxx, a larger intake and a DELETE ... WOOHOOOO! Don't know the brand of the intake, guys at Carolina Diesel Performance did the work, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I stopped by the shop a few times and saw they had a welder under the hood, had to fix two too-skinny studs that broke off (engineers, what are you going to do?). Also, minimaxx key/battery switch doesn't allow key-on function - shop ording new one to replace it, said it happens occasionally. Ordered an extra filter and a filter sock.
Ah mah gawd it is AWESOME
Now I just need to ease off the accelerator more, put my graph display on throttle percentage and try not to race EVERYONE ALL THE TIME.
New minimaxx shifts programs on the fly - have heard other programmers don't do that, they require a full stop and some even require putting batteries on charge. Shop carefully! Very happy with my guys at CAROLINA DIESEL PERFORMANCE in Seneca, SC. It's a brand new truck!

It is so rad. Thank you for the clarification! I told the boss that the variable inlet vane closing noises were "fancy truck functions" which happened before the delete, just didn't hear it. So awesome.
Already have the MiniMaxx. Planning to order the delete pipe and EGR delete in the next week or so. I'm going with FloPro as I can get it from the jobber I deal with.
I'd prefer a tuner that doesn't need to stay connected so I can run TorquePro all the time, right now I have to unplug the tuner to run it.
yes I am still driving with the windows down to hear the sound! its only been a week, I am 54 years old and it makes me feel like I have a hot rod again I see methane in my future! It is not the same truck love it even more than I did before
Thanks guys, now I really can't wait until I hit 100K. Just not willing to take the chance and screw with the warranty. Heard to many horror stories.
Like I said, can't wait.

I don't think you should wait. Warranty will only protect you so far, whereas a proper delete will protect the engine itself. My urea heater went out, truck still under warranty, part not covered. Why wouldn't I expect other epa parts to fail before warranty expires that are also not covered by warranty? Took that crap off and set my truck free!
I know a lot of guys have and had no issues but I have heard some of the stories about dealers refusing warranty work once the delete is done. I'm at 45K miles, tow the rig below and no issues so far. I hear the big advantage is better mpg's but since I realize I don't have a Prius I don't expect great mileage anyway and pulling is not an issue with the 6.7.
I'm try to follow the 'if it ain't broken, don't fix it' line of reasoning, mostly..., especially on stuff I know I can't fix. Mr. Murphy has me concerned that if I do this I would be driving to the grocery store and have a piston pop through the hood and then the dealer tell me "well, because you deleted..."
At the rate I'm going I'll hit 100k in a year or so, then its time.
