An AOD conversion is an excellent Idea. We could go either way AOD or AODe, the electronic version would allow you complete computer programmable shift points and shift stiffness control, kinda nice, but the cost of the computer adds significantly to the cost of such a system, and unless you really want this feature, the simple AOD works well, is reliable and surprisingly cost effective. Here's a quote on the AOD conversion:

### AOD into Bronco Kit Total-> $1,339.25
1 "Bad Boy" AOD Transmission (Bolt up to Ford 302/351W) $1,195.00 $1,195.00

1 Dipstick & Tube $41.25 $41.25
1 Lokar adjustable TV (kickdown) Cable $78.00 $78.00
(Optional) Tranny Cooler $87.50
(Optional) Tranny Temp Gauge kit $93.75
(Optional) Lokar Floor Shifter $210.00

Let me know what you think!

id like to know that also, you should look into the AOD but make shure it has the wide range gear kit, i wish i had. it will give you a 2.8 first gear rather than my current 2.4 with my built AOD. when i personally talked to Art Carr last year they quoted me an AOD with torque converter ment for 700horse power and 15000# towing capacity for 1900$. still cheaper than the factory E4OD rebuild.

For those with a C6...

For those of you running a C6 here's some additional info.I bought a C6 BadBoy from High Impact recently to put behind a 400 HP 351W in a Bronco designed for low end torque and intended for 4WD use.The engine rebuild is not complete so I can't vouch for the product yet but this much I can tell you.Greg Miller at High Impact is helpful and easy to work with and I received my tranny with no trouble right on schedule.

C6 BadBoy Stage II (Uses 4 pinion 2:82 planetary set) $980.
Furnace Brazed conveter element $240.
Stage II Performance shift kit (Clutches, bands, etc.) $120.

Total: $1,340. IMO it should be a much better product for not substantially more than a good rebuild . Wish I could tell you more but won't have it installed for a couple more weeks.

Let me know how that tranny works for you. I have been considering something similar with the E4OD. For my daily driver I need overdrive. I too have already dealt with Greg Miller at High Impact, when I purchased my KluneV and Atlas II Transfer Case. Very helpful.

Yea too cool. I had installed the KluneV & Atlas in December, about 4 months after I orriganally posted this thread.

My rear shaft is about 3" shorter than stock and is of the 1 ton variation. The front shaft is about 3" longer than stock. I had up dated the U-Joints to 1350 and then had the front & rear yokes replaced to match. The angles haven't changed by much. It seemed to be still all good. I haven't had any problems yet. Except for exploding my rear-end 2 months ago.

hhhmmm iwas just cerious because this has been a big issue with people on the FSB board, most of them swapping out the E4OD's for notsolong trannys, but then again they are also running Sterling rear axles which also cut down a couple more inches on the D-shaft.
