Does anyone have this system on their 97 or newer F-150 with a 5.4 or 4.6 V8? How much louder is it? I hear not much. Anybody running a Magnaflow single side exit system? I'm looking to upgrade for performance, enconomy and sound but don't want it to loud in the cab.
My friend has the gibson on his '02 and depending on what you compare it to, it's pretty loud and definately good sounding. Its pretty deep and throaty, but if you're easy on the gas it's not too bad at staying quiet.

When I had my 01 F150, I had a Gibson swept side on it. Gibson is the quietest manufacturer on the market. I liked the low rumble it gave me. It was very quiet in the cab, but low at the tail pipe. I cannot compare it to a Magnaflow, because I have never heard one. You will gain power, as well as a mile or two per gallon (I did at least).
I put a Gibson Swept side on my 02 f150 this spring. It is very quiet a bit lowder than stock. After the exhaust is on for a while it will get a bit lowder, but not to the point where you know you have an aftermarket exhaust. It almost sound like a chevy exhaust system. Form fit and function is perfect. Very happy with the system.
I will be ordering a Gibson swept side soon, (not soon enough) I have to wait for next payday. I'm already tempted to pull out the ol credit card but it's already gotten me into enough trouble. Dang the internet, makes it too easy to spend money.
