Sorry for the continuous onslaught of potentially lame questions... I hooked up the cherry picker this afternoon and put a little pressure on the block to get a feel for how things were looking .... There is definitely some wiggle at the trans/torque converter/flex plate marriage that indicates it wants to separate. However, there is zero budge from the front of the motor and I got to thinking, should I be taking the entire motor mount off, I obviously have the nut off that comes thru the steel motor mount which the stud slides thru, but that thing hasn't moved a hair I am also paranoid a bit, this being my first pull, so maybe an over reaction and I need to just work it a bit.....
Yea I think you're over thinking it a bit, personally I would put some tension on it with the engine hoist. And then use a pry bar to try to get the motor to move a little. Once you have some movement I'd apply more pressure and repeat until you're clear of the mount.
