So you doing the fix in the stations lot or had it towed?

Free tow from my insurance company. Unfortunately, since I'm 600 miles from my tools I'm forced to have it fixed at a local shop. Two thumbs down.

Wow, that's not something you'd expect to have fail so suddenly.

Are you talking about the camshaft sprocket for the timing chain? Just curious, how did the shop find that? Did they find the ignition timing way off and go from there?

Most of the time that is when they let go, start & stop of the motor.
I did have a bow tie chuck a chain as I was making a slow 90* turn. Let off the gas before turn and was just giving it more as I was coming out and the motor just stop running. On the side of the road it cranked over real fast, no compression, and I knew what it was.

Hope it all works out good for you.

Yup. They actually diagnosed it almost immediately and they were right on the money.

That's a good sign ... Although an unfortunate circumstance!

An immediate sign is when you crank it over. It's not a constant rpm when it cranks, it wavers in a pattern going up and down in rpm as the starter turns it over.
