After years of nagging a neighbor down the block finally sold (well, technically swapped me for my 1994 cadillac fleetwood) me his truck because he doesn't have the strength to push in the clutch anymore (a permanent back issue left his left foot numb). It's a 2x4 1983 F100 XLS flareside. 300ci and 3-on-the-tree. With 53,000 original miles.
It needs a few things, bed wood, clutch needs adjusted, needs an alignment, and needs some rear brake work. 1 rust spot on the drivers side bedside. Other than that, it still has the undercoat under the cab. I understand that these XLS's are fairly rare?

 

That thing is gorgeous, can't say those style Caddys aren't, but in that condition you made out well. I love those short beds also.

Very nice truck. I have been looking for a step side before I bought the yard ornament I have now, looks like you did well. I had never heard of the XLS until recently when I was reading online at one of the old brochures that they had offered them with the blackedout grills and bumpers. I'm sure someone else will chime in about them that are more knowledgeable but good job.
