Yipes! You can have a new one for less, and that one has a dent. But, the grain and holes do look good.

 

If it is 30 years old, the cover (and inside foam) could very well be dry-rotted, it will depend on how it was stored. Push your thumb into the foam padding and see if it cracks or springs back (I know you can't because it's not yours, just speaking rhetorically there)

These things retailed for ~$500 from the dealer when new.
