I recently purchased a 1986 f150 and the dash is pretty much toast. I just found the dash pad covers in the LMC catalog and wanted to know if anybody had any experience with these. It looks like they might just slip on right over the original dash and I am afraid that this might be kind of cheesy.

If I remember right its just a piece of felt or something tht goes over the dash, the best thing to do IMHO is to take a trip to a junkyard.

 

According to the catalog, it is a molded plastic piece that fits right over the existing dash an is painted to match the interior. When I bought the truck it had a carpet pad on it and I prefer the cracked dash to that ugly thing.

I don't have it, but it looks like a good buy to me. I didn't buy one because I am really picky about what goes on my truck. Reason being was because of the speaker holes in the top. Original Ford has the holes in a six sided figure. LMC (Replacements Covers) are in a square. If that don't bother you, its probably a good buy.
