My dashboard is busted in 2 or 3 places and a new one cost about $170.00,
but at Jeffs Bronco Graveyard i found a dashpad cover for $60.00. has any one used this, or know how well it works, does it cover the hole thing?
is it thick and ugly? or does it look just like the orignal dash?
I used one from j c w just to make my old look better when i sold it. it was plastic and coverd the whole dash pad. it looked so-so, fit was about the same it looked better than the faded and cracked one, but it was nothin to write home about
I think it was from coverlay??
I bought a dash from a wrecked truck because it looked like it was in perfect shape. When I got it off, I noticed it was just a plastic pad glued onto the old dash. It looked great. I'm not sure where the guy bought it, but my hunch is LMC. I was going to pony up and get a whole new dash, but when I saw how good the pad was, I'm a convert. I'm sure the better (read: more expensive) ones will be better quality and fit tighter. Good luck with it.
I have used the "dashmat" type pad covers in the past with good results. I like the carpet style as they seem to match the type of carpet used in most trucks. they are cheap, less than $30, and can be removed easily as they go on with velcro. they sure look a lot better than a broken up dashpad.
I bought one for one of my old F150's for JC Whitney that glued (made of plastic) ontop of the original one look fine for year till I sold the truck. about 100 bucks, glue included.
