Hehehe....MONSTER brakes.... ya got that right! Back in the day, stopping always played second fiddle to going.....not so much today as stated.
Punkin Gearing: I would seriously consider taller 5:38s. They might even be too small for your application. I believe 5:38 would fit your D44....
UH, you would be putting lower gears in not taller.Taller means going from 410 to 350. not from 410 to 538, just to clairify. Also bigger brakes equails bigger wheels, what is your plan for wheels?
yea that is exactly what i am thinking to do stance wise but body wise its gonna have my own twist to it. if he has the same set up that im looking at doing would really like to get a similar parts list of the driveshaft, brakes, and diffs etc. it would really help with getting everything today. that is a beast. basically paint it blue and silver and put the tanks on it and that is close to what i am doing.
Agree with HIO about the Rockwells. As I stated before, D60s would be waaay better than the D44 out of the gate. They'll take taller gears better and with chrome moly axles and upgraded to 1410 yokes, you could probably run 48s as long as you stay off the loud pedal some. They (48s) might be pushing the D60s a bit.
Maybe someone with more experience with running 48s will stop by. As HIO also said, It's homework time!!
Good To Doo : Yeah, I should have clarified as to taller/higher gearing numbers.
i definitly agree and will definitly invest in d60s or would bigger better? i dont mind the price its gonna be a project thatll take time. i definitly agree about homework the past 3 years has been that and deciding how to do it and figure this will be a excellent place to get the finishing touches and some advice. thank you i totally agree with everything. any good places to shop from i know broncograveyard and rock auto and a few others but was wondering if other places may offer better deals and product. thank you
