Truck will not crank over. I know I can search but I'm down at the Grocery Store. Maybe someone will pipe right in.
Started truck 3 times in 30 min. no issues with truck before tonight nice well cared for truck. Went to get a pack of buns at store came out --NO CRANK--all lights are on dash, etc, new starter a month ago, relay changed out in fuse panel just to see if there was a change. Bought two new Motorcraft batteries installed , NO CHANGE, so is it natural safety, key switch, electrical ignition switch, solenoid on starter, is there a solenoid between key and starter? Help would be nice.

Reason: Title
Have you checked to ensure there is 12vdc @ the Solenoid?
Is there 12vdc @ Trigger Wire to Solenoid when key is turned?
Have you done a Voltage Drop Test to the Solenoid / Starter?
No fender mounted relay on an '02 . . . Is it an automatic? Have you tried holding the shift lever up and starting, or starting in neutral? Is the shifter sloppy?

Yes and Yes, fooled with that shifter for a few, in neutral, at top with key in start mode , nothing, my shifter is not that sloppy never had to move for starting, its odd that there was no warning, inside store less than 5 min, truck is auto and miles are 155,000
From another thread I found there is a yellow wire single pole terminal near pass battery I can jump over to check starter? Is this true on the 02? no relay or solenoid on pass fender? Where exactly is this single pole terminal near battery?
Yes, that's there on an '02. Disconnect the connector and touch the pin inside it to the bolt sticking up on the positive terminal. If it still doesn't crank, the problem is either in the short section of wire between that connector and the starter, or the starter itself.

Problem solved, Starter solenoid stuck, Its amazing what you see after you get your truck home by tow truck, sleep one night-think-go to work call all your buddies with 7.3's, talk to four shops you deliver parts to, read FTE thread, then take off wheel get down there with meter and boom see 12v at trigger wire. Thanks to all who piped in!!! Cheap starter but Warranty covered.
Thanks Allen
