Loose steering wheel
Hi all,
Is there a way to tighten the steering wheel? My issue is the steering wheel is physically loose, meaning I can wiggle it up and down when driving and when parked. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You don't say what year your's is but if you have an air bag then I think you would have to take it to someone who knows what they are doing. I personally wouldn't want to screw around with it and ruin the electrics to the bag or worse yet have it go BOOM.

There is no slop in it while driving the wheel is actually just loose. And while I don't use it to pull myself to get in, some others in my family tend do. It's not the entire column only the wheel itself

So there are two ( I believe) bearings in the column. Let's call the top one by the wheel outboard and the lower one inboard.
When nefarious family types pull themselves in to the truck using the wheel the outboard bearing gets crushed and you get a loose wheel.
about $230 will make her like new again. But you may be able to get just the bearing and tolerance sleeve.

My 99 was like that. Upper bearing was bad and wore out the shaft. Had to tear it all apart, weld up the shaft and turn it down in my lathe, and replace the bearing. Above most people's abilities. Shop will probably replace the Column.
