Part I'd please!

A buddy of mine just purchase a 1970 F100, he came across this part item. I goggle it and only found out it's possible a speedo sensor modulator attach to the dizzy, found mostly on Cougars & mustangs.

It appears to have been a very primitive emissions device according to several websites.

If my memory serves me right that was to allow spark advance only after the the transmission had shifted into high gear. I remember having to jack up the rear wheels to check for full timing advance at my Dad's shop.

D0AZ-9E731-A .. Speed Sensor / Marked with ID Engineering number: D0AF-9D731-A or C or D0AF-9D842-A (Motorcraft DY-102) / Obsolete

Depending on where they were sold new, not all the following vehicles came with it:

1970/71 F100 & Econoline 240/302 / 1970 Bronco 170/302 / 1970 Fairlane/Torino/Mustang/Cougar/Falcon 302 / 1970 Fairlane/Torino/Mustang/Cougar 351C

1971 Galaxie/LTD 240/C4 except CA / 1971 Fairlane/Torino/Mustang 250/C4 / 1971 Maverick/Comet 170/250/C4 / 1971 Thunderbird 429 CA only.

Pic shows 9E731 for 1970/72 F100 "Distributor Modulator System." But, 1972 F100 302/C4 & 360/390/C6 used a different switch.
