I think they had some kind of silicone coating ? I had a '74 for a short time. Not a bad car otherwise. A kid at school had one of the first V8 vega's. It think it was a Super Chevy project.
On the way to being a classic, '03 Vette w/ 172k miles on it. I claim that the Vette is my wife and the truck is my mistress and they both take my MONEY equally. L8R ZFLASH
I'm confused... This already looks restored to me. Also what do you mean by factory console?
Nope, not restored, just cut polished. It has some rust spots poking through, and the interior needs some help. Pretty good shape overall, though.
The Marti Report says there were 317,000 made in 1968, and only 85 of them came with a Canadian Spring Promotion kit, and a factory console.
The vast majority of 68's you see today with consoles are earlier or later consoles that were cut to fit.
ok here's my other toy, got it in 1999. The original Stag V8 had blown head gaskets and two bent valves. It had sat for 15 years. I got it running by summer of 2000. Did all the work myself with the shop manual as my guide. Took it down to bare metal in 2005 and had it painted the original green. I don't use it much anymore never seems to be enough time. Kind of want to sell it.
Always something being worked on. This is a 1941 Cadillac model 63, started on this one last winter, pushed aside when spring hit, will start up again in winter.
Jag IFS, LT1, fuel injection, 4L60E, impala rear, etc.
