So if I ordered the Hydra with gearhead tunes I would also be getting the PHP tunes to put on it pretty much. I see there are plenty of tuners that tune for the Hydra which would also be nice.
Exactly!
Additionally, many of the tuners who are writing the tunes for the Hydra are using similar code/non-proprietary so that you can mix/switch between them without having to stop and turn your truck off.
Another great fact is that with Gearhead, Matt does not care where you purchase your modifications: after the initial purchase of tunes, the updates are free.
Well just ordered the Hydra with Gearhead tunes. Figured $450 wasn't too bad. I ordered from full Force diesel not sure if that matters with the lifetime reburns or not from gearhead.
So who are all the tuners that tune for the Hydra it should be here Monday just want to shop around and know my options so far I have found Gearhead wich is what I had installed PHP of corse and powerstruck.
Well got around to swapping chips out and I'm impressed not sure the HP rating is on the Gearhead economy tune but it seems to have more power than the DP 80DD. I just wish someone would make a flush mount switch for the Hydra I left the DP flush mount in just so there wasn't a big square hole. I guess the Velcro will work for now. One thing I will kinda miss about the DP is the tow tune and how I'm guessing it locked the TC when it downshifted kinda like a trans brake. But so far I'm liking the Gearhead tunes.
