Bought a '64 F-100 - Whats It Worth?
I know you guys prolly get asked this a lot but heres another one for ya!
(Ill give the short version)
I had a Harley motorcycle that I was more or less tired of looking at. Messaged a guy with a 69 Falcon wagon for sale and we met up. The Falcon was a bit more work than I wanted and ended up trading for a 64 F-100 he had instead. I know they were high on their asking price but I liked the truck so I bit the bullet. Id rather pay too much for a truck Id drive than stare at a motorcycle.
Long story short, me and the truck aren't on speaking terms now so Id like to either sell it outright or trade for something else.
1964 Ford F100 Custom Cab
223 Inline 6
3 on the Tree
2wd, 9" rear w/ 3.90 open
50k original miles
This thing is ORIGINAL! About the only things I could find that weren't factory was the rims, tires, seat cover (factory looking replacement) and wiring. It even sports the original Holly 1 barrel glass fuel bowl carb and oil bath air cleaner. Also, the previous owner sanded the paint down some to give it that patina look and clear coated the whole truck. Body is... fair. Some dents, a little rust, and it has the questionable reworked paint job. Underside is clean. Interior is wonderful. Drives like a dream for being a 64.

These numbers are all over the place when it comes to these trucks. I looked for a year before I felt I had the right truck for the right price and think I payed to much after it was all said and done...
ANYWAY, I always say,,it is worth what one person may want to pay for it, baring condition and all. How bad do ya want it, right. I have been looking at pricing again due to the fact I may be selling my '64, the market is starting to get real full of these old trucks.
How about a picture or two, if you are able to do so? May be better to determine a price...

I'm going to say 2 grand ish. Have the Cheese Fest graphics professionally removed and you may net another another grand for it. Yes, they're that bad.
Simply removing the 80s center caps will make the wheels look a little more period.
Lastly do not claim it's all original as this may insult the buyer who is expecting an all original truck. It was not what I expected. It could put someone off. Right now it does not have the look. Just say a nice 64 with the factory engine and suspension.......Something like that.

Not a particular fan of the 'patina' look; the engine compartment and interior look good; but as member has mentioned, depends upon what an interested party is willing to pay. The issue that prevent you from bonding with the truck possibly similar/same as potential buyer? Ebay listing possibly a better forum to determine what you can sell the truck for, probly best to set a reserve price??
