Front axle differential\axle housing removal from a 98, other than pulling CVs what's involved? I have never done this generation and it is about an hour away I want to be prepared when I get there.

 

I have never done it either, but the half shaft/ CV joint unit is flanged on the inner end and has 4 small bolts to hold it to the differential......... The differential is mounted with 3-4 rubber mounted bolts to the frame. Again, I have not removed one, but seem to remember the bolts being about 12-14 mm ..... so the sockets are probably in the 17- 21 mm range. .......... not sure about the access to a couple of the bolts.. big punch and hammer maybe, and a floor jack.
