how about the front ring and pinion? Im having a mechanic buddy help me but I was wondering if theres any particular Brand I should pick up or anything else I should do While Im in there,seals etc. ? Thanks for all the help and youll probably here more from my little BIG problems.
If you do a search, somewhere on here is a step-by-step instruction guide to replacing the heater core. Make sure you take out the glove compartment interior. That will make things much easier.
I recommend getting all new hoses and clamps while you're at it. Doesn't cost much, and it will prevent future problems. If you haven't replaced the thermostat, you might want to do that too, while you have the coolant drained. It's super easy. Just make sure you clean the area where the thermostat sits carefully and thoroughly.
I think it's about a two or three hour job. Not too difficult, really. Just kind of a pain getting the old one out. Certainly much easier than in a new vehicle though!
The step by step article is in the tech articles section. You can access it with the button at the upper right corner of this page. It is written for trucks with the factory AC system. I think NON-AC trucks have a different setup that uses a different procedure.
