im havin a little problem my heater core its leaking inside the truck and ive done tore the dash out completely and im down to the black box the the heater core is in enclosed in but dont see how mounts at all and i cant tell if my truck had a/c from the factory or was put in afterwards im leaning more towards afterwards b/c the heater core lines go in to wat looks like a aftermarket intercooler in front of the radiator
The nuts are on the engine side of the firewall. Remove the blower motors nuts (2) and then a nut behind the passenger valve cover and then another right behind the intake.
And then the assembly will pull out and then down to access the core behind a metal plate.
That is a aftermarket possibly dealer installed a/c system that is getting in your way, I have the same in my '79 super cab that iI installed so that I can have a/c, those 2 lines going to the condensor, not sure if it is called that or evaporator??? are 1 side high psi and the other low psi, they should also connect to the a/c compressor, if you still have one, it is a good system even if you don't have all the parts, you can get the parts to re-assemble it. You are past the hard part, just don't let the freon out if you can avoid doing so.
thanks for all your responses heater core has been replaced and engine is back together now jus to get the electrical stuff taken care of and she will be back on the road and ready for paint and as i start cleanning it up ill post pics
