Need Type 8 Mirrors ?

Hi, so I know that no one makes the Type 8 mirrors anymore but does anyone know where I might be able to get some, or does anyone have a good set for sale ?

Lower pic: Do you need the entire mirror or just the mirror head?

You mean these? Yes the one set that is "swung in" has a small bend in the R/H mirror lower arm, and BOTH sets are Ford, at least the heads are for sure. Like I said, I think they might be off a newer year rig 80ish? Due to the longer lower arms? Let me know if they will work and we can set up a deal thru PM's.

Can anyone confirm the lower are length for an older set?

I'm not sure about different lengths for different years, hopefully someone else here will know and help out with that. I'm sure both will work. Lets hope someone here can give more info. Thanks.

When you get the measurements, measure 10 times and drill once. Unless you can get the OEM style inserts (nutserts?) and the proper tool to install them, go with new stainless hdwr and Nord Lock washers and stainless nuts from the backside.

Carefully remove the door panels and use allen head stainless bolts, Nord Lock washers and stainless nuts. Use longer tan GM push pins to remount the door panels. Also lube the window regulator and the window roller track since you are in there.

I will go get the new hardware, but am still hoping someone here can send a good pic and / or measurements of the proper mounting location. Thanks.

My 78 F-150 had the type 8 mirrors. They are off the door so I got the measurements. These are off the passenger side:

From the top edge of the door down to center of hole, 7-3/8", 3 holes 3/8" dia. From front edge of door, first hole is 12-3/8", second hole is 16-1/8", and third hole is 19-7/8". The bottom two holes are 15-11/16" from the bottom edge of the door. First hole is 9-7/8" from front of door edge, second hole is 22-1/4"(roughly, as hole is kinda rusty). I also took pics as well, message me if you want them.

Hey all,

So I have this set here of Type 8 Mirrors to put on my 79 F250 4x4 and am just now getting around to being ready to put them on. Had a few other things that I was doing to the truck first before the mirrors are ready to be installed. So anyways, I'm changing from Type 7 to Type 8 and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the installation kit for installing the new mirrors at ? The plastic spacer or bushings, whatever they're called that go between the door and the mirror base, the nuts, bolts, and washers.. etc... If anyone knows of a place that still sells them, preferably as a complete kit would be nice but either way, please help me out and let me know where I might be able to find the parts at. Thanks.
