Well, the new badges are more similar to your old ones than the current round ones.
New ones represent 160 more horse power and bunches more torque. And you wouldn't want to see the rust now. Some handy new places to hang the trouble light when doing brakes.

$300 and here is the best hitch I've ever had. Provides the tongue weight, 2.5" shank, 14k rating and adjusting the height is easy with the keyed lock pins, it's aluminum so it weighs 15lbs., when not towing just remove the ball mount and you're left with a clean drop bar.

I use brass shim stock to settle it in to remove any rattle. When I get a '17 or '18 truck I will likely make a sleeve and shim it so that its snug.

Where did you get that hitch? Who makes it?

That maybe as nice a ball mount as I have ever seen. I would want not only a lock but an armed guard on one but I see one in my future. Probably still keep an iron one for winter time use: too nice to expose to the winter elements and chemicals. I see they are available in 4,6,8,and 10in max drop. Also available on Amazon and E Trailer, 2 of my preferred sellers.

The 3" super titan hitches that people keep posting use a 3/4" hitch pin. Since the Ford hitch comes with sleeves to use typical 2-1/2" and 2" hitches I am thinking it probably uses a standard 5/8" pin. Unless they include a 1/16" wall sleeve for the pin.

I had a hitch before which came with the 1/16" sleeve and a sleeve for the ball mount. Real PITA to assemble and not lose all the parts.

I emailed manufacturer of the weigh safe and hope they reply regarding contamination of the ball socket from winter chemicals and grit/sand. Seems to me there should be a seal or o-ring around the pin to keep the socket clean. I also asked them if there was any protection against corrosion since those of us in the Northeast and rust belt are somewhat sensitive to expensive items which might be destroyed by the environment. Also asked about possibility of 3" hitch to alleviate the sleeve. Will post their response when it comes.

Here is the response from Weigh Safe, posted with their positive permission:
Rob,

Thank you for your interest in our Weigh Safe products.

1. We are in the early stages of development on a 3" model. Hopefully we will have something by November.
2. Our products have held up extremely well under these harsh conditions.
3. There is .01 tolerance between the ball and socket. We have considered a seal, but have not found a good solution yet.

I was just planning on using the downsizing inserts until the market catches up so I have more choices.

etrailer.com has always been abreast of new developments and I have enjoyed working with them over 15 years. There may at times be a little better price but they consistently have the right answers and videos so I feel a dedication to them.

At this time there is very little on the 3" frontier. I watched the Ford video showing the sleeves and the first sleeve (3" to 2 1/2") has a rim which seats against the receiver. That should make it much easier to use than a straight sleeve which never wants to line up correctly. Titan class 2 1/2 inch ball mounts are readily available now and I will probably stick with them as I have several for different trailers. I probably will, however, build a new 3" x 30" extension which will hold a 2 1/2" ball mount for pulling boats while the camper is on board. I welcome the stronger receivers for just that use.

I received mine a couple of weeks ago after I posted the link. It's very beefy.
