Im still tossing this around
New cooler still holding 2-3* spreads since revere flush


My gut says keep it OEM and just relocate
If I went air to oil the thermostat would need to be a 190* minimum the BPD 180* thermostat kinda a deal breaker IDK




Last weekend was balljoints


exhaust and alternator are real close of the hit list

I still have the right side ball joints to do on the Excursion,a 3 hour job turned into a 12........I feel your pain

Ya my balljoints turn into a 12hr job to I did spray undercoating and rotated tires checked all the brakes


I just had to keep telling myself Im saving 1200 bucks


im just glad im getting it taken care of now and not during winter

It sounds like you were able to clear the non-coagulating debris out of the oil cooler that loosened during the rework, so if it stays in the 3-4*F range you should be fine. The cooler can clog with two types of debris. If it's flakes or other particles, they will just be at the intake side surface and can be reverse flushed out. If it's the silicate drop out then that is what forms the gel that adheres to the hot surfaces. It doesn't sound like that's was your issue right now.
