My issues
Wondering if anyone has the this many problems with their truck or if mine was made on Friday.
Battery replaced at 3500 miles, an now needs another one at 18,000 miles. That's two ford batteries in 18,000 miles, gotta find a better brand.
Transmission front pump replaced at 15,000 miles. Took several seconds to move after sitting after two days.
Front rotors replaced at 17,000 miles.
I now have 20,000 miles on the truck.
I've owned nine ford trucks and probably never purchase another one.
Now I'm in the VW scandal and have to replace my diesel Passat.
Wanted to look at the Fusion but am having a really hard time even pulling into the Ford Garage.
Anyone own the Fusion and happy enough to brag about it?

I forget the exact time frame but, there was a bad batch of transmission components that were causing premature pump failure due to the components not being thoroughly flushed after the manufacturing process. Metal shavings would work their way into the pump and cause it to fail. This may have been your issue.
I wouldn't get too worked up over the battery and rotors. I had to have my rotors turned at 25K and my battery replaced at about 56K. Now at 65K, my rotors need turning again "which will not happen" and I have no other issues to report.
I'll add that since you have an ecoboost truck, plan to replace your plugs between 50K-60K miles. Ecoboosts are hard on plugs, they break down over time and misfire. This is a pretty well known side effect of turbo charged direct injection gasoline engines. Not worth getting tight chested over.
Don't shy away from Ford for such simple problems. As for the Fusion, my daughter has a 2016 with the 2.5L and I thinks it's fantastic. I think an ecoboost would make an otherwise family car really come alive.

Brake rotors warp on these trucks. I have a 2013. I put powermax rotors on mine. havent really driven it much. knock on wood, but Ive had no battery problems. why do you have to replace the VW? if it runs and it has no problems Id drive it. who cares if it doesnt pass the emissions ? (unless you cant get it to pass, and cant register it)

I owned a 15 Fusion and absolutely loved it. I actually fit in it, though still a bit tight, and I am 6'6". On the road I got 35 or so mpg, sometimes more. My overall average mpg, including city/hwy was 29.4 when I traded it last week. I only traded it because I was tired of bending over so far to get into a car, and I needed a truck to haul my beehives around.

my factory battery lasted 2 years - got it covered under warranty then next one last exactly 1 day less than 2 years - could have got it covered but said screw it and went to walmart and got one & that battery lasted one year almost exactly and got it covered last week ! so I'm on 4th battery in my 2010 with 81k miles.
Rotors swapped out 55k miles with front pads - rotors warped & my bad on that i hit them while they were real hot with cold water from a hose and that's all it took.
replaced rear axle cuz I bent it my fault 4x4ing
sun visor clip broke 30k miles got warranty work
transmission leaked due to bulkhead electrical connector failed at 33k miles got covered under warranty
my heated seat on drivers side quit - not getting fixed almost never needed in Texas heat.

Geeze after reading through this thread I feel pretty lucky with my tenure of owning Black Betty. She's been a fantastic truck. With 75k on the truck all that I have had to do it is 2 sets of front brakes, replaced front rotors as they were worn to the point of needing replaced. And I replaced them with the Motorcraft pads and rotors. First set was done when I purchased the truck with 35k on the clock. I have never had an issue with the rotors warping on Betty. And I'm not always easy on her when driving the truck. Nor am I afraid to work the truck. And I replaced the spark plugs at 52k miles due to a misfire. As stated earlier the truck has 75k miles now and is a 2011 and still has the factory installed battery. I love my truck and use it as a truck. And I won't ever consider another truck brand. In my opinion No other truck brand is built any where near as stout as an F series truck.

This. VW did you guys a favor when they put in the tuning that cheated when it needed to.
Our '12 F150 has 52k on it and the only problem we've had is the shocks started leaking. My buddy has a new Fusion and he said it's a great car.

I live in central Texas and the heat is rough on batteries. As far as brands go, I understand all car batteries are manufactured by three companies Delphi, Exide and Johnson Controls. They label them for different distributors.
So go with the best deal with the best warranty.
I have 20,500 on mine with no problems to date (knock on wood)
