number dummy help! or pics

hey guys, need a little photo help here, the p/o of my truck or god only knows who, bent the you know what out of the linkage on my colum when installing headers. now i can barley get out of park. its hard to tell the original shape. when shifting out of park the arm on the column hits the header bolt on #8 cyl when i bent it towards the firewall ( it looked the most logical) it binds up terrible in 1st. so i figured rather than keep bending the heck out of it if I had a pic of what it looked like when it left ford i would go with that.. theirs plenty of room so I'm not really sure why someone bent it in the first place
thanks in advance Wc

Pretty simple, going from park to 1st gear ( or low , if that's what you prefer to call it) the linkage hits the header bolt. I'm just looking for a picture of what it's supposed to look like. '65 w/ cruise o matic.

The Transmission Gear Shift Selector Lever Assembly should be as flat as a pancake or as straight as an arrow for the COM. Here's two original used ones (OG as Lax likes to say). I'm going to drop one of these into some Evaporust and see how it turns out. Yours reminds me of a lever for a 3-on-the-tree the way it is bent.

C5TZ-7302-B is the part number.

C5TZ-7302-B is the part number / Obsolete ~ 1 available NOS
Applications: 1965/66 F100/250 240/300 C4 / 1965/66 F100/250 352 MX Cruise-O-Matic.

OP failed to mention the engine size, just said '65 with Cruise-O-Matic. But back then, both the MX & C4 were called Cruise-O-Matic.

The pictured shift dial (post #3) is in-correct, first used in 1967. 1965/66 shift dial has a green dot.

He did say his #8 cylinder header bolt so I sort of made an assumption there.

Good catch on the shift dial. I've thought about trying to reproduce a few one offs of the green dot dial.

Thanks guys. Sorry bout the lack of info she's got an fe in her, originally 352 I put this 360 in. The linkage looks like it used to be bent in kind of an l shape like this one off a dent

I'm at the local junkyard now as I type this. There are no bumps w/ auto to compare .Maybe I have a column out of a bump? The plot thickens lol . A lot sure can happen over 50 years! Basically all I've done since acquiring this truck is fix one cobbled up crude repair after another. So I wouldn't be suppressed if it's the wrong column

Gee whiz, I wonder who bought it?

I called the seller (Bo, who I've known since 1975 when we worked together at Walker-Buerge Ford in WLA) and asked where it went.

Yes. I originally asked him about the part back on January 9th and this thread reminded me I meant to snag it when I had some extra money and today is my birthday so I went for it. Bo seems like a very nice guy.

Happy Birthday!

Bo seems like a very nice guy.
Next time you call him, ask about barasoaps.

Bo has been here since 1973, but today...he still mangles the English language.

Circa 1975 when he was a parts driver, I sent him to a shop with head & valve cover gaskets.

When he came back, he said the shop also wanted barasoaps. I said what the hell is that?

Valve seals!

Thanks again guys, once again this forum has steered me in the right direction ( pun intended) now that I'm home and crawl under the dash it's sooo clear to see this is not the column for this truck! So I'll just do a little more tweeting to make it work for now and search for the right one. Ta455ho maybe you could give me a center to center length on the correct ones? I'll prob just pull the column out and straighten everything out on the bench. Cut and weld if I have too.

Looks like you might have a dent side column for the Saginaw power gear in there mounted to a non power Bendix gear. With the correct matching gear the dent side column cuff uses the same holes as original.
