Power steer pump bracket ptII

Hey guys, I got sent a power steer pump bracket, thanks John, but it doesn't match my pump, I have included pics of the pump, can anyone help me out with a bracket, or how the pump should mount to the bracket?
The bracket I got sent has slots in it for the pump to sit on, I think, maybe it has the wrong pump in the truck?
It is a 400ci V8.

Any help appreciated, and I can post pic's of the bracket if needed. It may be that some one has fitted a Falcon or other powersteer pump too.

Shane ..I dont think thats a stock pump.. Ive never seen that style on a 400 and I've seen a few.. It almost looks like it came off an old 292 or something. Dang sorry bout that I could have sent you a pump also..Most stock pumps ( they made plastic and steel bodies) were mounted under the bracket like I sent with the 3 top bolts to hold and the end one for tension. Your actual pump is correct but the mount ON the pump is wrong. That can be changed but you need a special tool to get the pully off and it can be a pain in the ****...If you cant find a pump that matches the bracket let me know. If you want to pull the pully and change it Im sure I have the pump mount...John

That pump actually looks to be the correct one for a '77 with the 400,and I had that same pump in my '77-framed dentside with a 429. Out of curiosity, why are you replacing the mounting bracket, but not the pump?

Standard pump for that year? I got the same one on my 77 but on a 300 6.

Bracket replacement

I am only replacing the bracket as it has the wrong one, some one fitted one off a 351 Cleveland, and it doesn't line up, the pump works just fine.

That looks exactly like the bracket and pump I used to have on my 77 with a 302. When I replaced the pump with a new one I went with the 79 & up pump, with the plastic reservoir. I had to modify my bracket that attaches to the water pump because the bolt that goes through the tension adjustment slot was a little higher on the newer pump mounting bracket. I also had to buy a new pressure hose because the fitting to attach is different from the older style, but the fitting that attaches to the steering boxes are the same.

Thats just a common low psi pump from the late 60's to around '76. You need the inner pump bracket to go with the bracket you just got and it will bolt right on to that style of pump. Your problem is you only have half of the 400 power steering pump bracket, you now need the inner bracket to go with it.

I'm pretty sure I saw that setup at the junkyard the other day. What bracket exactly are you needing. Is it the orange part?

I'm going back Tuesday to rob more parts off a truck that absolutely does not belong in a junkyard. They wouldn't sell me the whole truck either.

I need

The orange part is wrong, it is off a 351C of Australian origin. It doesn't line up with the threaded head support for the correct bracket, and as such, the pump wobbles and vibrates around, plus it is not lined up with the pulley, so it chews drive belts.
Another member has sent me a bracket, which lines up with the water pump and head mounts, but my pump will not fit the bracket!! He has also offered me another bracket, I didn't want to be too demanding, but he understands, lucky for me!!
I am open to any offers, but I will see how the original offer of parts go.

I hate posting this pic because everything is so dirty. lol. This is after body work but before cleaning. Quality isn't that great either but this is the stock power steering pump and bracket from my 1977 F-150 4x4 351m, it is on a 460 in this pic. The pic is also somewhat misleading. Its not taken from straight above but from the drivers side. Just remember the water pump and crank pulleys are in line with each other and you'll see what I mean.
Same pump as what you have but a way different bracket. There are 2 brackets in my set up as well, both very different.

Yes, you can plainly see the inner bracket I told him he was missing in your picture. For some reason I can't upload pictures into my gallery anymore ? I just get the little black box with the red X in it when I upload.

Looking for the same bracket

I bought a 77 with a 351 that had no pump or brackets...I found the pump, but cannot find the tensioner bracket anywhere...It is identical to the one in your pics. Does anyone have one of these?
